A short introduction to
alt.fan.pern

alt.fan.pern is the newsgroup for discussing all things pertaining to Anne's World of Pern ©.  Discussions of Anne's other work is allowed too, as there's no newsgroup specific to that.   Some Pern MU* stuff is okay as well, though questions about how to play belong in a MU* newsgroup.  Mostly what I've seen are invitations to join a MU* at a new hatching.

More information about this and other topics can be found in the alt.fan.pern FAQ.  You should at least scan through the FAQ before posting any questions to the newsgroup, just to make sure the answer isn't found there already.  Other readers get tired of answering the same questions again and again, which is why the FAQ exists.

The group has been largely dead since the advent of Anne McCaffrey's own message board.  With the upcoming closure of that board (Dec 15, 2004), alt.fan.pern may become active again.
